Tailormade Moves are giving back this Christmas

This time of year, whilst full of festive fun, can also be a tricky one. Whether you’re missing loved ones or struggling with rising costs, this Christmas may be stripped back for a lot of us compared to usual.

Here at Tailormade Moves, as much as we like to celebrate the holidays, we also want to be able to give back where we can and are in an extremely fortunate position to be able to do so, so this year we’ve given back with donations to each of the below.

We are proud to work with some amazing local charities, and wanted to take the time to shine a spotlight on what they do, ways you can donate, and how they can help you in return.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, stay safe and take care of one another. Lots of love, Team TMM x

Mikeysline

Mikeysline are a fantastic charity helping those who are struggling with their mental health, offering them a place to turn and someone to speak with. Set up in 2015 after close friends Martin Shaw and Michael Williamson tragically passed away, it is such an amazing way to pay homage and assist those in need.

It can feel debilitating when your mind makes you think you can’t reach out, Mikeysline make that feeling a little bit lighter. Whether we’ve been affected by mental health struggles personally, or know someone that has, it’s more important than ever in the current climate to check in on one another, and yourself. We’re all guilty of keeping things to ourselves, but we want to help you remember it’s never as scary to reach out as it can feel.

If you feel like you have nowhere to turn but not confident enough to speak face to face or even on the phone, Mikeysline offer a text/messaging service. To find out more information as to how to contact or what other services they offer, please find them below:

Highland Hospice

The Highland Hospice are an independent local charity reliant on the local community for the majority of their funding. The Hospice care focuses on the individual and puts the needs of them and their families at the centre of decision-making.  Offering Inpatient Care, Community and Support Services and End of Life Care.

Some of their biggest and most popular charity events they do each year include Strictly Inverness & Ness Factor, among other fantastic appeals. Not only do they raise money for a fantastic cause, they bring together the Inverness locals and raise spirits across the community.

By raising or making a donation of £7,800 you can cover the cost of care and support over a 24 hour period for every one of our patients and their carers, in the Inpatient Unit, attending Netley Day Therapy Centre, living in the community or receiving bereavement support. MFR Cash for Kids

Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity that fundraises to help disadvantaged children across Moray, The Highlands and Aberdeenshire.  All money is raised locally and stays within the community helping make a huge difference to the children.

We are so proud to work with MFR Cash for Kids all year round, but especially at Christmas with their Mission Christmas appeal. It’s such a worthwhile cause, and everyone involved goes above and beyond to try and help out the local and wider communities.

For many of us Christmas is a time of great joy and fun but for the families they support it can be a time of dread and worry.  Every year Tailormade Moves acts as a drop off point for Christmas gifts.  In 2021 MFR Cash for Kids raised £949,533 supporting 22,146 children.  Let’s hope this year we can put a smile on so many children’s wee faces.
